This painting looks like a city skyline made of blocks. The shapes are sharp and angular, stacked unevenly. Some parts are dark blue, others almost white, with thin lines cutting across the whole thing. It doesn’t look like anything you’d see in real life—more like a puzzle or a map gone wrong. The artist used oil paint on paper, which is unusual. The colors are flat but the lines feel rough, almost like they were drawn quickly. It’s hard to tell what’s supposed to be buildings or streets, but that’s the point. If you like this, check out Charlotte Posenenske—she made a lot of work like this.
