About this work

This print is all black and white shapes. Thick lines form a rough square in the middle. The background looks like it was scratched or rubbed. The edges of the shapes are uneven, like something was cut out. The artist used a printmaking trick to make the texture. The paper has a grainy, almost worn look where the black isn’t. Check out etching next to see how artists use acid to carve into metal plates.
