About this work

This painting shows big, simple shapes with flat colors. There’s a light brown block on the left, a pale yellow square on the right, and a small white rectangle in the middle. Inside that white space is a green squiggle that looks like a plant or a question mark. Above the white box, two bright circles float—one orange, one yellow—like floating bubbles. The artist left the date and title in the corners, but that’s all the clue you get. The colors are soft but bold, and the shapes don’t connect in any obvious way. If you like this kind of open-ended art, check out lithography to see how it’s made.
