This print shows two dark, shadowy rooms with a lone figure standing inside each one. The walls are rough, almost like scribbled lines, and the floors look like tangled grass. One side is mostly black and white, while the other has a few pale shapes—like a couch or a chair—that barely stand out. The artist used two different printmaking methods for each half. The top half looks like it was made by pressing ink through a screen, while the bottom half has deeper, carved lines typical of woodcut. Check out woodcut to see how this technique works.
