This painting shows a tangle of thin, white lines crisscrossing a dark gray-blue background. The lines look like tangled roots or scribbles, with some faint blue shapes peeking through. The top half is mostly a pale, rough texture, while the bottom half feels busier and more tangled. The artist used a thick, chalky paint called tempera, which dries fast and can create sharp, uneven marks. It’s hard to tell what it’s supposed to be—maybe a city, maybe just random lines—but it’s all about the messy energy. Want to see more work like this? Check out tempera to learn how artists use it.
