Dominant colour
Untitled is a 1984 gouache by Osvaldo Romberg, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This drawing shows three blobs of color—orange, green, and purple—smeared in a line. Under each blob, messy handwriting labels them: "1 orange cad," "2 green phthalo + yellow cad," and "3 violet purple." At the bottom, a note says "1-2-3 Secondary colors in T. Value order," with a date and the artist’s name scrawled. The colors are mixed from basic pigments, listed like a recipe. The orange is straight cadmium, while the green and purple mix in extra yellow or violet. Next, check out gouache to see how this matte, opaque paint works.
