This painting is mostly blank—just a big sheet of light-colored paper. Off to the side, there’s a single dark shape. It looks like a long, uneven rectangle, painted deep red and black, sitting alone against the pale background. The whole thing is simple, almost like a puzzle missing most of its pieces. The artist used real paper cutouts and layered paint, making it feel raw and unfinished. Next, check out Roni Horn to see how she plays with empty space in other works.
