This lithograph shows a single tree with a thick trunk and many branches. The branches twist into a rough circle, like a wreath made of wood. The background is plain white, so the tree stands out sharp and clear. Salvo liked to play with simple shapes and hidden meanings. He often used words in his art, but here he lets the tree speak alone. The clean style makes the odd shape feel even stranger. Look up lithography. Salvo used this printmaking technique to get such crisp edges.
