This is a close-up of thin, tangled lines all over a light background. The lines look like they’re made of tiny strokes—some straight, some wavy, all crammed together. The whole thing is in shades of gray, almost like a sketch that got stretched out big. The artist used a printing method to make these lines. Each one is sharp but soft, like scratching lightly with a needle over and over. Look up etching to see how this technique works.
