Untitled is a 1898 ink by Victor Emile Prouvé, a Impressionism work, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This sketch shows three people hugging tightly. The man stands behind a woman holding a baby, their bodies pressed close. The woman’s long dress flows down to her ankles, and the man’s pants are simple and dark. The baby’s face is turned toward the man, who’s leaning in to kiss the woman’s hair. The artist used quick, sketchy lines to show movement and emotion. The whole scene feels warm and close, even though it’s just pencil and ink. Want to see more?
