Untitled is a 2006 ink by William Kentridge, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This print shows a single bird in mid-flight, drawn with bold black lines against a light background. The wings and feathers are thick and textured, while the rest of the image has faint, sketchy marks. The bird looks dynamic but is made mostly of sharp, angular strokes. The artist used a technique called drypoint, where lines are scratched into a metal plate to create texture. This makes the ink sit heavier in those grooves, giving the bird its rough, almost hand-drawn look. Check out William Kentridge to see more of his bold, expressive drawings.
