Untitled is a 1949 ink by Pablo Picasso, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This is a single white bird—maybe a pigeon—perched on a rough, textured ground. The background is almost all black, with just a hint of brushstrokes showing through. The bird’s feathers are simple, with a few quick strokes for detail, but its head is more carefully drawn, with sharp eyes and a pointed beak. The artist used a printing method that lets the black show through in spots, making the white bird stand out even more. It looks like the bird is just sitting there, calm and still.
