The Art of the Print

Every print is giclée — pigment ink on enhanced matte art paper, produced to order by Prodigi, our fine-art fulfilment partner.

How we make your print

  1. Museum open-access source. The print file comes from the source museum's own published master of the work — the highest-resolution image the institution makes available.
  2. Made to order. Nothing is printed until you order it. Each print is produced individually, inspected, and shipped flat in rigid packaging.
  3. Giclée on enhanced matte art paper. Pigment ink on an acid-free matte stock that holds fine detail and diffuses reflections — the full paper story is on the materials page.

Provenance & source attribution

Every work in our catalog comes from a museum open-access program that publishes its images under a public-domain dedication such as CC0. Each print's product page names the source collection so you can find the work's own catalog record, where the institution publishes its provenance. Prints are open editions — we do not number copies or claim originality; what we stand behind is the source: the exact public-domain work, the collection that published it, and the materials of your print.

Our print partner

Prodigi is an on-demand fine-art print laboratory with facilities across Europe and North America. Orders are routed to the nearest facility to minimise transit time and environmental impact.

Prints are produced to order by our fine-art fulfilment partner, Prodigi — typically 2–5 business days in production, then 3–7 business days in US transit.

Our guarantee

Every print is made to order, so we cannot accept returns for change of mind. If your print arrives damaged or defective, report it within 30 days of delivery and we will reprint or refund it — nothing to ship back.

If anything arrives wrong, file a returns claim — we reprint or refund, no shipping back.

This page is the short version. The full print story lives across a few dedicated guides: the materials page details every paper, ink, and frame finish; sizes explains the per-work price ladder and the resolution gate behind it; framing covers mats, glazing, and ready-framed options; and care is the conservation guide for keeping a print looking right for decades.
