G. Engelmann

G. Engelmann is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Gottfried Engelmann spent his days covered in ink, turning sketches into prints in his Strasbourg workshop. He liked lines that felt alive, not stiff, one of his favorite tricks was scratching directly onto metal plates instead of drawing first. If you like the way some prints feel like they’re still moving, try his “H Beard Print Collection,” a set of portraits where even mustaches look like they’re about to twitch.
