F.H. Swoffer

F.H. Swoffer is an artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

F.H. Swoffer spent his mornings sketching dogs in the park, then spent his evenings carving their likenesses into woodblocks. He made over a thousand prints in his lifetime, and the ones from 1926 are the easiest to spot, they’re signed with a tiny paw print. His prints feel like vintage trading cards you’d slip into a shoebox: simple lines, bright colors, and a sense of humor.

Why he belongs in Gallery Tiles: tap into the H Beard Print Collection (1926).
