Giovanni Battista Scultori

Giovanni Battista Scultori was an Italian engraver and painter active during the sixteenth century. Born in 1503 within the Margravate of Mantua, he lived until 1575. His documented occupations include work as a painter, printmaker, copper engraver, and draftsperson. Scultori is also noted for his role as a teacher and parent to the artist Adamo Scultori. He instructed his son in the art of engraving, passing down his technical knowledge within the family. His career reflects the artistic practices of his time and region, contributing to the visual culture of Mantua through his various documented roles.
