Eugène-Ferdinand Buttura was a French painter and draftsperson active during the first half of the nineteenth century. Born in 1812 and passing in 1852, he is primarily recognized as a landscape painter. His artistic training included study under Paul Delaroche, a significant figure in French academic painting. He also received instruction from Édouard Bertin, who was known for his own landscape works and influence on the genre. Buttura's career, though brief, was defined by these formative relationships and his dedication to capturing the natural world through painting and drawing.
