Frederik Ferdinand Helsted was a Danish painter who lived from 1809 to 1875. He studied under Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg, establishing a foundation in the artistic traditions of the Kingdom of Denmark. Throughout his career, Helsted dedicated significant effort to education, instructing notable artists such as O.A. Hermansen, Vilhelm Groth, Peder Severin Krøyer, and Otto Carl Bentzon Haslund. His influence extended to the next generation of Danish art through his teaching. He was also the parent of the artist Axel Helsted. This lineage of mentorship and family connection marks his contribution to the artistic community of his time.
