Johan Edvard Ericsson was a Swedish sculptor and medal engraver who lived from 1836 to 1871. His artistic training included studies under the artist Jens Adolf Jerichau, as well as instruction from Eugène-André Oudiné and Gustaf Brusewitz. These mentors guided his development in the fields of sculpture and medal engraving during his lifetime. Ericsson is recognized for his work within these disciplines in Sweden. His career, though brief, was defined by the technical skills he acquired through these formal educational relationships.
