Eugene Aubert

Eugene Aubert is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Eugène Aubert liked to wander the backstreets of Paris with a sketchbook in his coat pocket, stopping to jot down rooftops and storefronts before they vanished. He made most of his living turning those quick sketches into prints that Parisians could tack above their mantels, tiny slices of everyday life pressed onto paper. Hunt down his print “Rue du Chat-qui-Pêche” and you’ll see why the city still feels like a village when you walk the same cobblestones.
