She developed her practice through study under the artists Nicolaas van der Waay, Thérèse Schwartze, and August Allebé. These educational relationships formed a foundation for her career across multiple creative disciplines. Her life and work remain a part of Dutch artistic history, spanning the late nineteenth and mid-twentieth centuries.
