Lizzy Ansingh

Lizzy Ansingh was a Dutch painter who lived from 1875 to 1959 within the kingdom of the Netherlands. Her documented occupations included work as a writer, poet, artist, illustrator, and graphic artist. She developed her practice through study under the artists Nicolaas van der Waay, Thérèse Schwartze, and August Allebé. These educational relationships formed a foundation for her career across multiple creative disciplines. Her life and work remain a part of Dutch artistic history, spanning the late nineteenth and mid-twentieth centuries.
