Magdalena van de Passe
Dutch Republic, 1600–1638
Magdalena van de Passe was a Dutch Republic artist.
Magdalena van de Passe lived from 1600 to 1638 within the Dutch Republic. She worked as a visual artist and copper engraver. Born into a family of printmakers, she was the child of the artist Crispijn van de Passe I. Her artistic lineage continued through her siblings, the artists Willem de Passe and Simon van de Passe. Although often described as a German engraver, her documented life and professional activity are associated with the Dutch Republic. Her career reflects the collaborative nature of her family workshop, where multiple generations contributed to the production of engraved images during the early seventeenth century.
