Constantinus Cornelis Huysmans was a Dutch painter, etcher, draftsperson, and lithographer who lived from 1810 to 1886 within the kingdom of the Netherlands. He received his artistic training under Mattheus Ignatius van Bree and Ary Scheffer. Later in his career, he served as an art teacher and notably instructed Vincent van Gogh. His professional life encompassed multiple disciplines in visual art, including painting and various printmaking methods. Huysmans remains documented as a significant figure in Dutch art education and practice during the nineteenth century, bridging the gap between established masters and emerging talents of his time.
