Ruth Reeves was an American artist who lived from 1892 to 1966 who worked as an illustrator, painter, and textile designer. Her professional practice encompassed the creation of textiles alongside her work in illustration and painting. During her development as an artist, she studied under the French painter Fernand Léger. She also received instruction from the American artist Kenneth Hayes Miller. These educational experiences informed her diverse contributions to the visual arts in the United States. Reeves is recognized today primarily for her achievements as a textile artist within the American art historical record.
