José Domínguez Bécquer was a Spanish painter and lithographer active during the early nineteenth century. Born in 1805 and passing in 1841, he pursued a career defined by both his own artistic output and his role as an educator. He studied under the artist Antonio María Esquivel before establishing his own practice. His influence extended to the next generation through his teaching of Manuel Rodríguez de Guzmán and Manuel Cabral y Aguado Bejarano. Domínguez Bécquer was also the parent of the artist Valeriano Bécquer, contributing to a family legacy within the Spanish art world. His documented life reflects a dedicated engagement with painting and lithography in Spain.
