Jacobus Bisschop

Jacobus Bisschop was a painter active in the Dutch Republic during the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. Born in 1658, he lived until 1704 and worked within the artistic traditions of the Northern Netherlands. His career began under the direct guidance of his father, the artist Cornelis Bisschop, who served as both a parent and primary instructor. This familial connection shaped his development as a painter, grounding his practice in the skills and methods of his lineage.
