Francisco Maggiotto

Francisco Maggiotto is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Francesco Maggiotto made late-18th-century etchings that look like tiny stage sets full of light and shadow. His “H Beard Print Collection” shows musicians, beggars, and street scenes in crisp lines that catch candle glow on faces and coats. These prints belong to the same playful, slightly theatrical tradition as Venetian caricature prints of the 1780s. Swipe to see Maggiotto’s etching of a crowded market square next.
