Malthe Engelsted was a Kingdom of Denmark artist.

Malthe Engelsted was a Danish painter who lived from 1852 to 1930. He received his artistic training under Frans Schwartz and August Jerndorff, and he also studied with Laurits Tuxen. During his career, Engelsted served as an instructor to several notable artists. His students included Carl Frydensberg, Karl Schou, and Tycho Jessen. Through these teaching roles, he influenced the next generation of painters in the Kingdom of Denmark. His life and work remain documented within the history of Danish art.
