Anthony Crickmay

Anthony Crickmay is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Anthony Crickmay spent his days in a cluttered London studio that doubled as a library, where he’d pin up half-finished sketches beside teacups and cricket scores. He never trained as an artist, just doodled late at night after years of editing theatre posters, and somehow his spare, ink-heavy style landed in galleries anyway. Look up his 1988 “Sculptures” poster: the way those jagged black cuts read like shadows on a stage, it’ll make you wonder what else you’ve missed in plain sight.
