Karl Ludwig Frommel

Karl Ludwig Frommel is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Brukenthal National Museum.

Karl Ludwig Frommel carried a paintbox into the Black Forest every summer like a second briefcase. He’d set up near Titisee at dawn, sketching the mist lifting off the lake before tourists arrived. That habit gave us Sat de munte, a rare 19th-century German painting that feels more French plein-air than the usual studio landscapes. You can almost smell the pine needles in the canvas.
