Johann Gottfried Schadow

Johann Gottfried Schadow, a German sculptor who lived from 1764 to 1850, was a citizen of the Kingdom of Prussia. His documented occupations include work as a sculptor, illustrator, graphic artist, painter, caricaturist, and art educator. Schadow studied under the artist Jean-Pierre-Antoine Tassaert and later taught the artist Friedrich Wilhelm Schadow, who was also his child.
