Edward Mossforth Neatby

Edward Mossforth Neatby is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

English painter of the early 20th century, best known for watercolours of Dartmoor’s granite tors and quiet lanes. His brush tracked soft light over heather and stone, catching the moor’s shifting moods in real time. Look at the pale greens and umber skies in Near Postbridge, Dartmoor (c.1935) to see how he let damp paper do half the work.

Tap the same sheet to watch the water lift the pigment and settle into the lanes he loved.
