Elisabeth Wandel was a Danish painter who lived from 1850 to 1926 within the Kingdom of Denmark. Her artistic education included study under Carl Thomsen and Peder Severin Krøyer, two significant figures in the Danish art world. Through her practice, she contributed to the national visual culture of her time. Beyond her own work, she is noted as the parent of the artist Sigurd Wandel, linking two generations of creative talent. Her life and career reflect the artistic environment of late nineteenth and early twentieth century Denmark, where she trained and worked as a documented painter.
