Stefan Popescu

Stefan Popescu was a Romanian artist who lived from 1872 to 1948, recognized as a painter, engraver, and xylographer. His documented practice also included work as a draftsperson and lithographer. During his formative years, he studied under the artist Lucien Simon and the artist Eugène Carrière. These educational experiences informed his development as a creator of visual art within Romania. His body of work reflects the diverse technical skills of an engraver and painter, establishing his presence in the early twentieth-century artistic landscape.
