Sofie Holten

Sofie Holten was a Danish painter who lived from 1858 to 1930. Her artistic training included study under Carl Thomsen and Christen Dalsgaard in the Kingdom of Denmark. She also pursued her education abroad, learning from Félix-Joseph Barrias and Alfred Stevens. These instructors provided her with a diverse foundation in painting. Holten dedicated her life to the practice of art during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Her work remains a part of the documented history of Danish painters from this period.
