This is a paper piano roll made in the late 1920s by The Meloto Company for the Metrostyle Themodist player piano. The roll holds the fox-trot “Painting the Clouds with Sunshine,” recorded by Edward Duchin for the 1929 musical comedy Gold Diggers of Broadway. It’s wound on a black wooden spool and stored in a plain cardboard box labeled with the catalog number MELOTO full scale, Song Roll nr. 38571.
