Sumiyoshi Jokei

Sumiyoshi Jokei was a Japanese painter active during the seventeenth century, living from 1599 to 1670. He received his artistic training under the guidance of Tosa Mitsunori and Tosa Mitsuyoshi, absorbing the traditions of their respective lineages. Throughout his career, Jokei maintained a significant role within his family's artistic legacy, serving as the parent of the artist Gukei.
