His formal education included study under several notable figures of the time. He trained with the artists Viggo Johansen and August Jerndorff, deepening his understanding of the craft. Additionally, he studied under Frederik Vermehren, further shaping his artistic development. Throughout his life, Henningsen dedicated himself to painting, carrying forward a legacy influenced by his father and his distinguished teachers. His work remains a part of the broader narrative of Danish art in the early twentieth century.
