Joseph Finberg Alexander

Joseph Finberg Alexander is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Joseph Finberg Alexander spent his days sketching in the stockyards of Chicago, flipping through ledger books between penciled cows and hogs. He drew them alive, not the prize-winning kind, but the tired, slouching ones waiting for slaughter, their bones pressing against skin. Look up Untitled (1900) to see what he did with a few spare lines and a lot of empty space.
