Xanthippos Vyssios

Xanthippos Vyssios is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Metropolitan Organisation of Museums of Visual Arts of Thessaloniki – MOMus.

Greek painter Xanthippos Vyssios kept a studio above a bakery in Athens, where the smell of sesame and yeast crept up the stairs and stuck to his canvases. He painted light itself, sun on stone, neon on rain, without ever naming the source, just a blur of yellow or a streak of pink where a window should be. Track down his Φωτοσχέδιο 1 (1983) and you’ll see the whole city breathe through color.
