Artist
Jan Kaplicky
Jan Kaplicky is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Jan Kaplicky never carried a straightedge, he sketched skyscrapers on napkins while waiting for soup. The Czech architect who landed in London drew buildings that looked like melted cheese in motion, all curves and no corners. One of his doodles ended up in the V&A’s 150th birthday album, proving even museums need a little play.
If you’ve ever wandered past a building that feels too flexible to stand up, tap the V&A album: that wobbly wonder started on a scrap of paper.
