Markku Lepola

Markku Lepola spent years sketching backstage at punk shows, charcoal smudged on his fingers and sleeves. He once drew the whole band before the first chord was played, lines so quick they looked like they’d been shot from a gun. His drawings of Eeva Kahakorpi and Assi Koivisto in metal aprons hang in a Hyvinkää café where the light hits them just right.

If you like the raw edges of Kimmo Kaivanto’s work, Lepola’s line will feel like a cousin you never knew you had.
