Pierre-Etienne Moitte was a French artist active during the eighteenth century, known for his work as both an engraver and a painter. Born in 1722 and passing in 1780, he dedicated his career to the visual arts within France. His professional legacy includes a significant role in the artistic education of his children, as he taught his son Alexandre Moitte, who also became an artist. Alexandre was one of two documented children of Pierre-Etienne, the other being Jean Guillaume Moitte, who likewise pursued a career in art. This familial connection highlights a direct transmission of skill and practice within the Moitte household.
