Dimitris Karlaftopoulos

Dimitris Karlaftopoulos liked to draw with a quick, scratchy line, like he was hurling ideas onto paper before they could change. He turned everyday sounds into visual jokes, like the Greek word “φτου,” which sounds like a sneeze or a puff of air, spelled out in wobbly letters. You’ll find his work in the corner of a gallery that’s all about playful lines, next to a shelf where you can flip through booklets of his drawings titled Φτου (2005).
