Bizantină is a work by Arămescu Anderson Georgeta, depicting Turquoise, held at Moldova National Museum Complex.
This painting looks messy on purpose. The top half is a chaotic mix of dark lines and rough brushstrokes in browns, blacks, and faded whites. The bottom half shows two dark, shadowy shapes that might be boats or animals, floating on a flat, muddy brown surface. The edges are uneven, like the paint was scraped or smudged. The artist’s signature, *Arămescu*, is tucked in the corner—short and clear. The whole thing feels raw, like it was made fast or even torn apart and put back together. Georgeta liked to carve shapes into wood, then press them onto paper until the ink rose like a stain.
