About this work

This sculpture looks like a single figure stretched into motion. The body twists in sharp angles, with limbs and torso blending into one another. The surface is smooth but jagged, like waves frozen in time. The piece was made to feel like movement, even though it’s still. The artist carved it from one block of material, so every part is connected. Next, check out the Victoria and Albert Museum to see it in person.
