Henry II of France is a 1547 ink by Nicolò della Casa, a Renaissance work, depicting Charles V, held at National Gallery of Art.
This engraving shows King Henry II of France sitting stiffly in a fancy chair. He wears a crown and velvet robes, and holds a scepter. The artist used fine lines and cross-hatching to shade his face and clothes. Engraving was a new way to copy art back then. It let images spread fast across Europe.
