You see a big white canvas covered in black, blocky letters that look like they were stamped with a paint roller. The letters don’t spell anything—just a jumble of shapes that repeat and overlap. Wool didn’t paint this by hand. He used a patterned roller, like the kind you’d use to paint walls, then stamped it over and over. The smudges and gaps make it feel messy on purpose. If you like how this looks, check out the technique called *impasto*—thick paint that stands out from the surface.
