Untitled is a 2012 by Daan van Golden, held at Museum of Modern Art.
This image looks like a wall covered in a mix of patterns. On the left side, there’s a large section of blue and white plaid fabric. The rest of the wall is filled with thin, vertical stripes in light brown and cream, creating a grid-like effect. On the right, there are two small black-and-white sketches of trees taped to the wall. The stripes and dots give the wall a busy, almost confusing look. The sketches feel out of place next to the structured patterns, like someone stuck them up without much thought. This style reminds me of how artists play with everyday textures. Check out *chiaroscuro* to see how light and shadow can create depth in art.
Daniël (Daan) van Golden was a Dutch artist, who has been active as a painter, photographer, collagist, installation artist, wall painter and graphic artist.
