This painting is all straight lines and deep red. Squares and triangles fill the whole canvas, some overlapping, some stacked. The colors are flat—no shadows or light changes. The edges are sharp, like a puzzle made of thick paint. The artist used cardboard pieces under the paint. That’s why the shapes look raised and stiff. It’s not soft or blended. Look up Gottfried Honegger next—he made this kind of bold, geometric work.
